I was totally blown away by how nicely I was treated at STEGH and the efficiency of the hospital.
After a medical assessment, I was referred to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH) for an echocardiogram, bone density test, and chest x-ray.
On February 18, I arrived for the echocardiogram and within 10 minutes I was taken to the Cardio Respiratory Diagnostics area for the test. The echocardiographer was fabulous. She was polite, friendly, and professional. After the test, I distinctly remember wanting to give her a hug to thank her for her kindness. I actually think she was more concerned about my comfort and pain avoidance than I was.
The next two tests took place on February 22. Prior to coming in for the appointment, I was given very complete instructions on how to reach the registration desk and what to wear. My appointment was at 9:40 am and I arrived at 9:05 am. Both of the tests were complete before the original time of my appointment.
The staff member who performed the bone density test saw that I had stickers for an x-ray. She escorted me down the hall to x-ray to let them know that I had arrived and was ready for my appointment. This meant I didn’t have to go back to the registration area and wait.
For my x-ray, the staff member was sensitive, professional, and always conscious of my comfort and understanding of the procedure.
I was totally blown away by how nicely I was treated at STEGH and the efficiency of the hospital. “Thank you” hardly seemed like enough, so I recently donated to the STEGH Foundation. I’m so grateful to the staff for their kindness and support. I felt anxious and overwhelmed coming in for the tests but left feeling calm and cared for.
With my sincere gratitude,
