We are thrilled to share some truly exciting news: we met the match! Announced during the public launch of the Transforming Tomorrow Diagnostic Imaging Campaign in May 2024, the FDC Foundation’s $1 million match has now been fulfilled.

This incredible milestone is a testament to the generosity and spirit of our community. We are inching ever close to our $8 Million dollar Campaign goal!

Over the past several months, volunteers, donors, and supporters have rallied to reach this remarkable goal. Thanks to the FDC Foundation’s $1 million donation, your contributions have doubled in impact—bringing us closer than ever to transforming healthcare at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH).

Generosity in Action: Powered by You

Since October, STEGH’s first-ever Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) machine has already completed over 590 scans, delivering faster and more accurate diagnoses for patients in our region—a transformation made possible by your generosity and unwavering commitment.

Transforming Tomorrow: What’s Next

While the MRI is already providing essential care, there is still work to be done to ensure patients in our community have access to the very best in diagnostic imaging.

Now, the focus is on key upgrades that will improve patient experience, enhance safety, and create a more seamless flow within STEGH. Renovations to the Nuclear Medicine area will provide a larger, modernized space, along with a new, state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine Camera to meet the growing needs of our community. At the same time, we’re working to relocate the Pulmonary Function Lab, consolidating Cardiac and Respiratory Services to make navigation easier and create a more integrated space for both patients and staff.

These upgrades bring us one step closer to a fully transformed Diagnostic Imaging Department—one that delivers the efficient, advanced care our region deserves. Your continued support is making all of this possible, and we can’t wait to share more milestones with you soon!
