We at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation are proud to partner with the community as we support STEGH in the delivery of an excellent patientcare experience. This commitment is made possible every day by our generous donors who believe in a future of heartfelt, local healthcare. Today, we’re thrilled to share an exciting update on our journey to transform diagnostic imaging and, in turn, transform the lives of those we serve.

Campaign Milestone: 94% of Our Goal Reached!

We are very excited to share that we have reached 94% of our $8 million Transforming Tomorrow Diagnostic Imaging Campaign (Campaign) goal! This is a monumental achievement that brings us closer to enhancing and expanding our Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Department.

As you may know, the cornerstone of this campaign, the community’s first ever MRI machine, officially arrived in July. The introduction of this long-awaited technology right here in St. Thomas & Elgin County means better, faster diagnose and treatments for patients without the need to travel outside our community for scans.

I am delighted to announce that we officially celebrated the grand opening of the MRI Suite on October 1st! In other words, our MRI is open for patients!

However, this campaign is about much more than an MRI. It is a 5- phase plan that includes the purchase of new ultrasound machines, a new waiting room, and renovations to STEGH’s Nuclear Medicine, CT, and Cardiac Diagnostics areas in DI! Stay tuned for progress updates on the other phases of the transformation in the coming months!

The FDC Foundation Matching Opportunity: 75% Achieved

In addition to nearing our overall goal, we are grateful to the FDC Foundation (FDC) for their $1 million matching gift. The FDC pledges to match every gift to the Campaign up to $1 million. We have until December 31stto reach this goal. This creates an opportunity for donors to double the impact!

I am happy to share with you that in just four months, we have already exhausted75% of this matching opportunity!

Join Us in Transforming Tomorrow

The transformation of STEGH’s DI Department is about more than just new equipment; it is about enhancing the level of care we can provide to our community.

With nearly every department at STEGH using these imaging services to improve patient care, DI is at the very heart of our hospital. Chances are, you, a loved one, or someone you know has or will need DI services throughout their lifetime. This is why this Campaign is crucial.

We are incredibly grateful to the more than 1,214 amazing donors who have contributed to this transformative Campaign. Your commitment is what has allowed STEGH to serve not only St. Thomas, but all 7 municipalities of Elgin County, and beyond for the past 70 years.

Our community has fully embraced the importance of this Campaign, and your passion for advancing local healthcare is what brought us this far. If you haven’t already made a gift and are thinking of doing so, there is no better time, than right now, as your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to FDC!

With your help, we can reach our $8 million goal to transform DI at STEGH and make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our community.
